Lanyard, Whistle, Braided, RAA
Lanyard is a rope or cord which is typically worn around the neck or shoulder to carry an object. Each lanyard has its own individual style, colour and material which will depend on the end-purpose of the lanyard. Originating from 15th century France, the lanyard was used to connect a pistol to a sword or whistle to be used for signalling. The lanyard was attached to the uniform semi-permanently for easy removal of weapons from the safety holder of the uniform.
