Issued to commemorate the coronation of King George V, on 22nd June 1911. The medal struck in silver, is awarded to the Royal Family, dignitaries and distinguished members of the military in addition to previously awarded distinctions. Military and civil contingents sent from Australia to the coronation ceremonies were also issued with the medal.
Approximately 5,000 have been issued to Australians.
